Mongolian Ground Beef

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

6 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon chili sauce such as sambal olek, or to taste

1 tsp rice wine vinegar

1 tablespoon garlic, grated

1 tablespoon ginger, grated

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/4 cup water or beef broth

4 green onions, sliced in ½“ pieces

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Directions

Cook the ground beef in a large pan over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks, before draining any excess grease.

Mix the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, chili sauce, rice wine vinegar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch and water, add to the pan along, with the green onions, and cook until the sauce thickens a bit, about a minute.

Remove from heat, mix in the sesame oil and sesame seeds.

Option: Add some vegetables to the mix such as broccoli, peas, peppers, etc.
